Experience Guwayu: For All Time at Murrook Culture Centre
Murrook Culture Centre is set to host a powerful evening on March 8 with the unveiling of Guwayu: For All Time — an exhibition that explores the deep history of Indigenous activism, resistance and survival.
The event begins at 5:30 pm with drinks and canapés, offering guests an exclusive first look at this significant collection. Through immersive storytelling and historical documentation, the exhibition highlights pivotal moments in Aboriginal history — from the declaration of Martial Law in 1824 to the formation of the Australian Aboriginal Progressive Association (AAPA) in 1924, Australia’s first united and politically organised Aboriginal activist group.
Following the exhibition viewing, attendees can enjoy a thoughtfully prepared dinner and an insightful Artist Talk. This unique experience provides a rare opportunity to hear firsthand perspectives on the importance of the works on display and the continued impact of Indigenous activism today.
We encourage you to be part of this special evening that invites reflection and recognition — honouring the past, acknowledging intergenerational trauma, and celebrating the enduring strength of First Nations peoples.
